Long Awaited Mash-up!

Homer and Peter will finally meet!  Time.com reports, “That’s right — this Sunday night will bring another entry in a time-honored (if often lowbrow) tradition of American television: the cartoon crossover. When the 13th season of Family Guy premieres on Fox, it will do so in the form of a one-hour “Smashtacular” crossover with The Simpsons, an episode titled simply, “The Simpsons Guy.”  Read the full article here.

John Carpenter Turning His Attention To Comics

Aylum-1

Newsarama recently talked with both John and his wife/partner Sandy, who serves as editor of the series, and discussed the story of Asylum, how they found their way to comics, and also the rise of several licensed adaptations of his films such as Big Trouble In Little China and Escape from New York.  Read full interview here.

With seven issues out and a collection due out by Halloween, Asylum delves into familiar territory for fans of Carpenter’s work such as Prince of Darkness and follows a priest named Daniel Beckett who’s more familiar with hell than heaven but is nevertheless called in by Catholic leaders to investigate a flood of demonic possessions in Los Angeles. From the storytelling to the artwork, Asylum feels like 1980s horror movies that Carpenter made his name with.

ESRB Rates Star Wars: Bounty Hunter For PS3

2667576-bounty

Looks like Star Wars:  Bounty Hunter could be coming to PS3!  The 2002 PlayStation 2 and GameCube third-person shooter could be coming to the PlayStation 3, if a new ratings post is anything to go on. This week, the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) rated Star Wars: Bounty Hunter for PS3, giving it the same T-for-Teen rating as the original game.

The ESRB’s new Star Wars: Bounty Hunter rating for PS3 unfortunately provides no details about any possible changes made to the game for its potential PS3 release. This is not uncommon for ESRB ratings pertaining to new versions of previously released games.
